LESLIE SMITH'S TEXAS CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 sticks butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. baking powder

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
1 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 stick butter
6 tbsp. milk

Boil butter, water, and cocoa. Stir to prevent lumps. Cool a little and pour over flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda in bowl. Add eggs, sour cream, vanilla, and mix together and pour in an 11 x 17 inch jelly roll pan. Bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Ice while still warm.

ICING: Bring butter, cocoa, and milk to a boil. Stir to prevent lumps. Remove form heat. Add to powdered sugar, vanilla, and nuts. Mix well and spread over cake while still warm. Makes 20 squares.
