1 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda dissolved in hot applesauce
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. hot applesauce, unsweetened
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter. Add sugar; blend well. Add beaten egg and applesauce. Rub raisins with a little flour. Add remaining ingredients. Bake about 1 hour in moderate oven.
