HUNGARIAN BAKED CHICKEN 
1/4 c. butter
1 chicken, cut up
Paprika
1 sm. cabbage, cut into 1/2 inch slices
Salt and pepper to taste
2 red cooking apples, sliced
1 med. onion thinly sliced
1 tbsp. lemon peel
2 tbsp. caraway seeds
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese

Melt butter in a large skillet with cover. Dust chicken lightly with paprika and brown on all sides over medium heat. Reduce heat and cook for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 375 degrees; place cabbage slices on bottom of buttered 13 x 9 inch baking pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper; cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes until almost tender. Remove cabbage from oven and arrange apples and onion over cabbage. Sprinkle with lemon peel, caraway seed, and sugar; place chicken pieces over the top. Cover with foil and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until tender. Remove from oven and sprinkle with Swiss cheese and continue to bake until cheese is melted (about 5 minutes).
