DOUGHNUTS - RAISED | |
5 c. flour 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs, beaten 1/2 c. Crisco 1 c. hot water 1 c. cold water 2 oz. yeast Measure first 4 ingredients in large bowl. Dissolve Crisco in hot water. Add cold water to lukewarm. Add yeast, stir to dissolve. Add to above mixture. Beat to a smooth paste. Add more flour and knead to a stiff dough, like bread. Let rise. Punch down. Roll out to about 1/2 inch. Cut with doughnut cutter. Lay on tray. Let rise again. Fry in deep Crisco and sugar doughnuts. |
