DOUBLE CHOCOLATE COOKY CAKES 
1/2 c. butter
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk

Cream butter; add sugar gradually; beat in egg, vanilla and cooled chocolate. Blend in sifted dry ingredients and milk alternately. Drop from tablespoon, 2 inches apart, onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes. Cool; make chocolate frosting. Makes 2 dozen 2 1/2 inch cookies.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING:

1 c. chocolate chips
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Melt chocolate with butter and milk; blend in vanilla and sugar. Frost cookies; sprinkle with pecans. (This recipe makes twice the amount needed to frost the amount of cookies that the above cookie recipe makes.)
