ILSE'S ONION TART 
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare and roll out unsweetened pastry dough to line a 9 inch round pie plate. Fit it into the plate and brush with melted butter. Add 2 cups of onion rings (that have been sauteed in butter). Beat 1 tablespoon flour into 1 cup of light cream and add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, pinch of pepper and 3 well beaten eggs.

Sprinkle onions with 1/2 pound of grated Swiss cheese and pour egg mixture over it. Bake at 375 degrees (350 degrees if using a glass container) for about 1 hour, until a knife comes out clean when a cut is made in the center.
