CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
1 hen
1 c. chicken broth
1 c. buttermilk
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 stick butter
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. pepper
1/4 c. sweet milk
Flour

Cool cooked hen and remove meat from bones. Mix broth, soda, buttermilk, oil and salt. Mix well. Add flour to make stiff dough. Roll dough. Cut into strips. Put soup into broth in which hen has cooked and let come to boil. Drop strips of dough into broth and soup mixture. Cook about 20 minutes. Add sweet milk, butter and pepper and simmer for 5 minutes longer.
