BUTTERNUT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
2 sticks butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk
3 eggs
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring

Cream eggs, sugar, butter and buttermilk together. Sift flour, soda and salt together. Mix with liquid ingredients and add flavoring. Bake in layers at 350 degrees until done (25-30 minutes).

FROSTING:

8 oz. cream cheese, soften to room temp.
1 box confectioners' sugar (sifted)
1 stick butter
1 tbsp. butternut flavoring
1 c. chopped nuts
