MYSTERY TORTE 
1 lb. Ritz crackers, crushed
2/3 c. chopped nuts
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites, add sugar and baking powder. When eggs are stiff, fold in nuts, crackers and vanilla. Butter pie plate, pour in mixture. Bake at 350°F for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool. Top with Cool Whip. Shred chocolate over cream if desired. Chill 4 to 5 hours.

I make this recipe once in awhile as it is my husband's favorite. My recipe calls for 16 ritz crackers. I use about 50% more as I find the crackers seem smaller now (I use PC as they are made with real butter). I find 1lb a lot. I also top it with whipped cream.
