STAY - A - BED STEW 
2 lb. beef, cubed
1 sm. can green peas with juice
1 can carrots, sliced with juice
2 med. onions, chopped
1 can tomato soup
1/2 c. water
2 lg. potatoes, raw
1 bay leaf

Put all ingredients, layered if desired, in a heavy baking dish, slicing potatoes crosswise. Salt and pepper to taste and use other spices if desired. Top with bay leaf. Bake 5 hours at 275 degrees. Do not open oven to check dish.
