CHOCOLATE SNACK CAKE/APPLESAUCE
SNACK CAKE
 
1 2/3 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar (packed)
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1/3 c. oil
1 tsp. vinegar

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in bowl and stir with fork. Stir in water, oil, vinegar and vanilla completely. Pour into ungreased pan (9x9). Bake until wooden pick comes out clean, 35-40 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

APPLESAUCE:

Omit cocoa and vanilla. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons allspice into flour mixture. Reduce water to 1/2 cup and stir in 1/2 cup applesauce.
