OLD FASHIONED ORANGE CREAM CAKE 
Bake 2 layers from package of yellow cake mix. When cold, slice layers horizontally to make 4 thin layers. Put orange filling between first 3 layers, whipped cream or Cool Whip over top layer. Keep refrigerated. Better if made day ahead.

ORANGE FILLING:

1/2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
3 egg whites
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. grated orange rind
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Combine first 4 ingredients. Cook 1 minute or until thickened. Blend into egg yolks. Return to pan and cook 1 minute longer. Take from heat. Add butter, rind and juices. Beat egg whites until quite stiff and fold into warm mixture. Put between layers when cold.
