GERMAN SKILLET DINNER 
1 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. uncooked regular rice
1 lb. ground beef
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 (16 oz.) can sauerkraut, undrained
1 tbsp. dried minced onion
Salt & pepper

Melt butter in large skillet. Spread in layers in skillet: sauerkraut, rice, onion and ground beef (raw). Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper to taste. Pour tomato sauce over all. Cover and cook over low heat 30 to 35 minutes. DO NOT STIR. Serve from skillet. Serves 4 to 6. For a different taste, add a light sprinkle of ground cloves or dill weed with the salt and pepper.
