CRACKERS 
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. milk

Stir together thoroughly the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk; stir until mixture forms a ball. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead dough gently 8 to 10 strokes. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness.

Dip 2 1/2 inch biscuit cutter in flour, cut dough straight down. Place dough rounds on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Split hot crackers with knife. Return to oven and bake at 400 degrees until golden, 4 to 6 minutes. Makes 24 crackers.
