STUFFED FRANKFURTERS WITH CELERY
STUFFING
 
Use any number of wieners and same number of slices of bacon.

3 c. dried bread or toast crumbs
1 1/2 c. diced celery and leaves
1 sm. onion, minced
5 tbsp. melted butter (oleo)
1/2 tsp. sage
Dash of pepper
1/3 c. water or stock
1 tbsp. oil

Stuffing: Fry celery and onion in butter about 3 minutes. Add with seasonings to crumbs. Add water and mix lightly but thoroughly.

Split each wiener lengthwise; fill with stuffing. Wrap slice of bacon around each; fasten with toothpicks. Melt oil in baking pan, lay wieners close together in pan. Bake in hot oven (375 to 400 degrees) until bacon is crisp and brown, about 20 to 25 minutes.
