SCOTCH OAT CAKES | |
3 c. rolled oats 1 c. white sugar 1/2 c. milk 1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in 1 tbsp. hot water 2 c. flour (or 1 c. flour and 1 c. wheat germ) 1 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening or butter 1 tsp. vanilla (optional) Mix with hands oats, salt, sugar, flour, shortening and remaining ingredients. Roll out on floured board and cut into squares. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. |
