RAISIN CAKE 
1 lb. raisins or 15 oz.
2 c. water
1 1/2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
3 1/2 c. flour
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

Boil raisins and water 10 minutes. Drain and cool; add enough water to make 2 cups liquid. Add sugar, butter, flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and add raisins last.

Bake in greased 9 x 13 pan in slow oven about 40 to 45 minutes.

Caramel Topping:

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
powdered sugar (about 2/3 c.)

Boil butter and brown sugar 2 minutes. Add milk and let it come to a boil. Add powdered sugar.
