GINGERBREAD 
2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 beaten egg
1/4 c. lard
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. sour milk

Combine all dry ingredients. Mix and blend the liquid ingredient with lard. Add all together and mix for about 135 strokes. Bake in loaf or layer pans at low temperature (about 325 degrees) 30 or 35 minutes. Gingerbread should be about 2 inches thick in the layer pans.
