GARLIC DILL PICKLES 
BOILING BRINE MIXTURE:

3 qt. water
1 qt. vinegar
1/8 c. salt

Add to jar: 1 heaping tbsp. dry dill weed 1 tbsp. dry garlic chips Sm. pinch alum

Soak cucumbers in ice water for 1 to 2 hours. Boil brine mixture. Add dill, garlic and alum to jar. Slice and place pickles in jar. Fill jar with brine mixture and seal. Do not use for 3 weeks.
