SWEET AND SOUR MEATBALLS 
1/2 sm. green pepper
2 med. onions, diced
1 clove garlic, diced
1 1/2 c. hot water
1 tbsp. oil
1 sm. bay leaf
1/4 c. vinegar
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 c. ketchup

Brown green pepper, onions and garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients. Cover pot and cook over low heat for 1/2 hour.

MEATBALLS:

1 lb. chopped meat
1 egg
1/2 c. bread crumbs
1/4 c. water
1 clove garlic, diced
Salt, pepper to taste
1 sm. onion, grated

Mix crumbs with egg, add water and then mix with meat. Add seasonings, garlic and onion. Shape meat into balls and place in simmering Sweet and Sour Sauce. Bring to boil, then simmer for 1 hour. Sauce will thicken as it cooks. Season to taste.
