CHUCK WAGON BEEF BAKE | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. celery, chopped 1/2 c. onion, chopped 1/2 c. green pepper, diced 1/2 c. water 1 (16 oz.) can Ranch Style beans, drained 1 (16 oz.) can pork & beans 1 tbsp. chili powder 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. paprika 1/2 tsp. MSG (optional) 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste In large frying pan, lightly brown beef. Add vegetables and simmer until tender. Drain off excess fat. Add tomato paste, water, chili powder, salt, paprika, MSG and beans. Simmer while preparing topping. TOPPING: 1 can buttermilk biscuits 2 tbsp. milk 10 (1/2 inch) cubed Cheddar or American cheese 2 c. Dorito corn chips, crushed Separate biscuits and place a cheese cube in the center of each. Fold in half and seal edges by pressing firmly. Dip biscuits in milk and coat with crushed chips. Transfer hot meat mixture into casserole dish. Place biscuits around edge of casserole and top with remaining corn chips. Bake 15 to 20 minutes in preheated oven at 425 degrees. Serves 6 to 8. |
