7-MINUTE FROSTING | |
2 egg whites (unbeaten) 5 tbsp. cold water 1 1/2 tsp. white corn syrup 1 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar Mix ingredients in top of double boiler. Place over boiling water; beat at medium speed until blended. Then go to high speed and mix until it stands in stiff peaks. Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla (optional). You really need 2 batches of this to ice a 2-layer cake. Important: (Only make one batch at a time). Ice bottom layer, then make second batch and ice top layer. Tip: If you add anything to this, do it by hand just before icing cake, like a little food coloring if you want a pastel cake, nuts, candies, etc. |
