STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
7/8 c. milk (1 c. less 2 tbsp.)
Melted butter
Sweetened berries

Sift flour. Measure and resift 3 times with baking powder, salt and 2 tablespoons sugar the last time into bowl. Blend shortening into flour mixture with fork or pastry blender to size of rice grains. Add milk all at once and mix with a cutting motion and only enough to blend ingredients.
