SEVEN UP POUND CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
1 c. 7-Up
5 eggs
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour and 7-Up alternately. Add vanilla. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 325 degrees.

GLAZE ICING: (Opt.)
1/2 c. butter, softened
Juice of 1 lemon
1 c. powdered sugar

Mix well and spread or drizzle over cake.
