ENGLISH TOASTING BREAD 
5 3/4 c. flour
2 pkgs. yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
2 c. milk
1/2 c. water
Cornmeal

Mix yeast, sugar, salt and soda with 3 cups flour. Heat milk and water to 120 degrees and add to dough, beat well. Add the rest of the flour for stiff dough. Pour into 2 medium greased loaf pans dusted with cornmeal. Cover and let rise 45 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes. To serve, slice and toast. Dust like an English muffin.
