FERSTL'S FINE CARAMEL CORN 
2 c. brown sugar
2 sticks (1 c.) butter
1/2 c. dark Karo corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. peanuts
8 oz. popcorn (1 c. raw, popped)

Pop the popcorn and set aside. Boil brown sugar, Karo syrup and salt for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add soda and vanilla, stir until well mixed. Pour over popcorn and stir until all is covered. Spread in large pans and bake at 250 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Keep in an air tight container.
