BAKED BEANS 
2 lbs. fried navy beans
2 diced lg. white onions
1/2 lb. salt pork
1 box light brown sugar
1 tbsp. salt in boiling water

Wash and soak beans overnight in deep water. Using fresh water and 1 tablespoon of salt, boil beans for approximately 30 minutes, occasionally skimming foam off top. Put salt pork sliced in half in bottom of bean pot. Place beans, sugar and diced onions in alternating and repeating layers on top until all are used up.

Lastly add the hot water from the boiling of beans and put bean pot into oven and bake at 280 degrees for 6 hours. Keep beans well covered with water during cooking. Flavor will improve with age. Freezes well.
