2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
Granulated sugar

Grease cookie sheets. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Stir together flour, baking soda and cream of tartar. Beat together butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. Gradually add flour.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake 12 minutes. Makes approximately 3 1/2 dozen.
