FRESH CUCUMBER PICKLES 
8-10 c. thinly sliced cucumbers
1 c. thinly sliced onions
2 tbsp. salt
1 c. vinegar
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. celery seed

Wash and slice cucumbers and onions. Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons salt and let stand 2 or 3 hours. Drain well and then mix sugar, vinegar and celery seed until sugar dissolves. Pour over cucumber and onions and put in jars, covering cucumbers with liquid. Refrigerate and use within 3 or 4 weeks.
