TOMATO PUREE | |
1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree 1/4 c. boiling water 1 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. fresh white bread in 1-inch squares, cut off crusts 1/2 c. melted butter Add sugar, salt and water to puree and boil 5 minutes. Place bread squares in casserole and pour butter over. Add tomato mixture. Bake covered in 375 degree oven for 30 minutes. We enjoy this with Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. A special favorite of ours! From Dillsworth, a famous restaurant in Northern Michigan. |
