SHOOFLY PIE 
1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
Pinch of baking powder
2 tbsp. shortening
1 c. molasses
1 c. warm water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 unbaked pie shell

Blend sugar, flour, baking powder, and shortening until crumb consistency. Combine molasses, warm water, and soda. Pour enough into pie shell to cover bottom. Add alternate layers of crumb mixture and molasses mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
