JEWISH APPLE CAKE | |
4 medium apples- sliced 2 cups sugar 4 eggs 1 cup oil 3 cups flour 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 cup orange juice 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanilla 4 teaspoons sugar (for apples) 2 teaspoons cinnamon (for apples) Grease and flour 9 inch tube pan. Peel and slice apples, mix with sugar and cinnamon to coat well. In separate bowl beat eggs well. Add sugar gradually, beating well. Add oil and beat. Sift flour, baking powder, salt together. Add to creamed mixture. Mix with orange juice and vanilla. Pour 1/4 batter into pan. Arrange 1/3 apples over batter. Continue pattern, ending with batter. Bake at 350°F for 90 minutes. |
