GREEN CABBAGE SALAD | |
2 c. sugar 1/2 c. water 1 c. vinegar 1 lg. head cabbage - shredded 1 tbsp. salt 3 stalks celery 1/2 tsp. celery seed 1/2 tsp. mustard seed 1 green pepper, chopped 1 red pepper, chopped 2 carrots (optional) Boil sugar, water and vinegar for 2 minutes; let stand until cool. Mix cabbage with salt; let stand for 1 hour. Squeeze out all juice, add remaining ingredients to cabbage. Add boiled mixture. Store in refrigerator. Makes 10 to 12 servings. This may be frozen. |
