4 slices, buttered & cubed bread
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Place approximately 2 inches of water in bottom of double boiler. In top of boiler, place 2 cups of brown sugar, then top with bread crumbs.

In small bowl mix milk, vanilla and eggs. Pour over bread crumbs. Cover pan and simmer for 1-1 1/2 hours on low flame. Serves 4.
