CHEWY CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 c. plain flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. pecans, chopped (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, salt and baking soda in small bowl. In large bowl, cream butter and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, on lightly greased baking sheets. Bake 10 to 20 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
