CRACKERJACK (Caramel Corn) 
1 1/2 c. raw popcorn
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. white corn syrup
Pinch of cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Pop corn and salt. Set aside in large roasting pan.

Mix together and boil 5 minutes the brown sugar, butter, syrup and tartar. After mixture has boiled 5 minutes, remove from heat and add soda. Mixture will foam. Pour over popcorn and put in slow oven 250 degrees for one hour. Stir occasionally. As it cools, break kernels apart or it will harden together.
