3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
2 heaping tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/4 sticks butter
2 c. water
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. vanilla

Sift together the dry ingredients. Mix the rest of the ingredients well and add to flour mixture, beating well. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until it tests done. (Sometimes, Roy will omit the cocoa in order to make a white cake.)
