DATE BALLS 
1/2 lb. dates, chopped
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
3/4 c. chopped nuts
shredded coconut

Cook dates, sugar, butter and egg together until soft. Cool slightly and add vanilla, Rice Krispies and nuts.

Grease hands with butter and roll batter into balls, then roll in coconut. Store in covered container in refrigerator.
