1 1/2 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. butter 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1 egg, separated 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. chopped pecans Sift flour with salt. Cream butter; add brown sugar. Blend in egg yolk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients. Shape dough in balls. Dip in slightly beaten egg whites, then into pecans. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Press deep holes in center of each cookie with finger. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Fill holes with ham, jelly, or frosting. |
