DOUGHNUTS 
2 c. sugar (white)
1 c. cream (sweet)
2 c. buttermilk
4 eggs
1 tsp. salt (scant)
1 tsp. baking soda
2 level tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla
7 c. flour (more or less)

Mix the above ingredients together in the order given. Chill dough. Then roll out dough, cut with doughnut cutter. Drop doughnuts into hot grease (a deep fat fryer, electric works best). Turn doughnuts carefully with fork. As soon as they are dropped in, keep shape of doughnut perfect. Doughnut dough may also be patted with hands and not rolled.
