DATE LOAF CANDY 
2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cream or canned milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1 tsp. vanilla

Cook sugar and cream to soft-ball stage. Add chopped dates and cook to soft- ball stage again, stirring often. Add nuts and vanilla and beat until begins to cool. Pour out on a wet dish towel and roll into small log roll. Leave overnight in refrigerator and slice in thin circles. Store in sealed container.
