SCALLOPED CABBAGE | |
1 head cabbage, broken into sm. pieces 1 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tbsp. melted butter 1 tbsp. flour 1 c. milk 4 or 5 slices American cheese 1 c. buttered cracker crumbs Pour water over cabbage, add salt and let steam for 10 minutes. Drain well. Place in casserole dish. Melt butter. Stir in flour and salt, pepper to taste. Add milk. Let come to boil and crumble in cheese. Pour over drained cabbage and top with buttered cracker crumbs. Bake 325 degrees about 25 minutes or until golden brown. |
