RUTH RIVENESS' GINGER COOKIES 
2 cubes butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
3 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. ginger
A little cloves
2 tbsp. Blue Karo (dark)
1 tbsp. water
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda

Mix in order given. Sift spices and soda with flour. Chill overnight. Roll out thin and cut out with cookie cutter. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
