MEATBALLS CARBONERI 
1 lb. hamburg
1/4 c. bread crumbs
Pinch of thyme
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
4 slices bacon
2 onions
1 (12 oz.) can beer
1 tsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. bouillon

Mix hamburg, bread crumbs, 1/4 cup beer, egg, thyme, salt and form into small meatballs. Saute meatballs until brown. Remove from pan. Add bacon to pan and fry until crisp. Slice onions and add to bacon drippings and saute until transparent. Add flour, vinegar, brown sugar, bouillon, beer and mix well. Cook until thickened. Put meatballs in casserole and add sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes until meatballs are cooked. Remove from oven and crumble bacon on top. Serves 4-6.
