ITALIAN CREAMY CAKE 
1 1/4 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped nuts
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 sm. can coconut

Cream shortening, sugar and beaten egg yolks. Add dry ingredients, alternating with milk. (Mix soda with milk.) Fold in beaten egg whites. Then add coconut and nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 55-60 minutes.

ICING:

1 box powdered sugar
8 oz. cream cheese
2/3 c. chopped nuts
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
