CHOCOLATE LOVERS CAKE | |
1 pkg. Pillsbury Plus devils food cake mix 1 c. dairy sour cream 3/4 c. water 1/3 c. oil 3 eggs 4 oz. bar milk chocolate, shaved into curls FILLING: 21 oz. can cherry fruit pie filling 1 c. whipped cream 1/4 c. sliced almonds Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 9 inch round cake pans. In large bowl combine cake mix, sour cream, water, oil and eggs at low speed until moistened; heat 2 minutes at highest speed. Gently fold in shaved chocolate. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until cake springs back when touched lightly in center. Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pans, cool. Place 1 cake layer bottom side up on serving plate, spoon 1 cup whipped cream around the edge of cake. Spoon half of cherry filling over center of cake. Top with remaining cake layer, bottom side down. Spoon remaining cherry filling over center of the cake. Spoon remaining whipped cream around the edge. Garnish with almonds and chocolate curls. Store in refrigerator. |
