CABBAGE BORSCHT | |
2 lbs soup bone 2 qts. water 2 carrots, cut 1 med. head cabbage 2 med. potatoes, cubed 2 med. onions 1 tsp. salt 1/2 star aniseed 10 allspice 1 sm. bay leaf 1 1/2 tbsp. parsley Pepper 1 - 1 1/2 c. tomatoes 1/2 c. cream Simmer together 1 1/2 hours the soup bone and water. Add water, up to 2 quarts. Add vegetables except tomatoes and seasonings. Cook until vegetables are done. Then add tomatoes. Bring just to boil. Add cream just before serving. |
