MEXICALI PORK CHOPS 
4 pork loin chops, cut 3/4 inch thick (about 1 3/4 lb. total)
1/4 c. salsa
2/3 of a 6-oz. pkg. (1 c.) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Snipped chives (optional)

Place chops on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Sprinkle with pepper. Broil 4 inches from the heat for 10 minutes. Turn chops and broil for 10 to 12 minutes more or until pork is no longer pink. Top chops with salsa. Sprinkle with cheese. Broil 1 or 2 minutes more or just until cheese melts. Sprinkle with chives, if desired. Makes 4 servings.
