MICROWAVE BEEF STEW 
1 3/4 lb. stew meat
1/3 c. flour
2 medium potatoes, peeled and cut
3-4 thinly sliced carrots
1 stalk celery, sliced
1 tbsp. instant beef bouillon
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 - 2 c. water
1 lg. onion

Toss meat and flour together in a 4 quart microwave container. Stir in remaining ingredients. Cover and microwave on high for 5 minutes. Reduce power to medium and microwave for 35 minutes. Stir and recover. Cook an additional 40-45 minutes or until meat is fork tender. let stand, covered, for 10 minutes before serving. Serves 4-6.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.

My first attempt at a microwave beef casserole... and all I can say is SPLENDID!!! I followed the recipe almost as written... just adding a teaspoon of paprika and a splash of Worcestershire sauce for a bit of 'punch', and my wife and I can't fault it. The timings given were spot on for the tenderest beef we've had so far. Thank you!
