SWEDISH OATMEAL BREAD | |
4 c. old fashioned oats 1 qt. buttermilk 1 c. sugar 2 tsp. baking soda, generous 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. melted butter Flour as needed Combine oats and buttermilk and let sit overnight. Next day add the sugar, baking soda, salt and melted butter. Combine well. Add enough flour to be able to handle. Roll out 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick. Cut with 2 1/2 to 3 inch biscuit cutter. Bake at 400 degrees approximately 15 minutes. Makes 3 to 4 dozen. |
